Key Leaves was founded by Rulon Brown, a woodwind player and teacher who grew up repairing instruments at his local music store. He started with the idea that the best cure for sticky keys is "leaving keys open to dry" so they can't stick onto tone holes. After years of research, Rulon shared his patented products with players and the response was astounding; including "Best Instrument Care Tool" from School Band & Orchestra Magazine and “BEST IN SHOW” at The NAMM Show - an international honor rarely given to woodwind products. The Key Leaves approach works so well that elite players, repair techs and teachers from around the world recommend it. We've expanded our work to create safer instrument transport, stopping those annoying moisture drips during a concert, and more.
