Common Questions

Can I use the GapCap in my C Melody Saxophone?
Yes! Most folks prefer the alto size for this kind of use. But if you try it and are not happy, we're happy to swap you a tenor size to try.

Can the GapCap plastic part ever break?
Yes. The plastic spring of the GapCap design is meant to flex and take impact force but under intense or repeated hits, the plastic is designed to break to protect the instrument. It's like a bike helmet designed to crack upon intense impact rather than hold it's shape and transfer impact force into your brain. Is there a GapCap for baritone sax?
No. We do not believe it wise to secure the intense weight of a bari sax via the small neck socket. It is best to invest in a quality baritone sax case that holds the instrument secure.

Is there a GapCap for soprano sax?
No. Soprano sax neck designs vary wildly with some being detachable, some curved, etc. If we made a GapCap to mount at the neck cork there would be too much instrument weight born by too small of a tube section. It is best to invest in a quality soprano sax case that holds the instrument secure.
