Saxophonist Wally Wallace has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States, France, and Switzerland. He currently serves as director of the Minerva Music Collective at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, teaching Entrepreneurship in the Performing Arts and hosting career development workshops. He previously served as principal saxophonist of the US Army Military Intelligence Corps Band, presenting clinics and masterclasses across the southwestern United States.
A passionate educator, Dr. Wallace has taught instrumental music at the elementary through collegiate level, recently serving as instructor of saxophone at Methodist University and Virginia Tech. His students have routinely earned top marks in state and national competitions, and have been featured on NPR’s From the Top. As executive director of the Gate City Saxophone Academy, Wally aims to provide free, high quality instructional resources while creating a supportive community of motivated saxophonists. He currently resides in Greensboro, North Carolina with his wife and two precocious children, Finn and Violet.
