A photo of musical instrument repair tech, John Kagerer, fixing a baritone saxophone

"The stickiest keys of a saxophone are the closed keys including G#, Eb and the palm keys. Most of the worst metal corrosion of a saxophone happen at or near the closed tone holes. So I strongly recommend using Key Leaves because they not only stop sticky keys, they help keep pad leather dry and supple while air drying the tone holes and body of the horn. It's powerful preventative care."
- John Kagerer (Master Repair Tech, The Horn Doctor)

John Kagerer graduated from Allied Music in 1978 and began his career as a Professional Band Instrument Repair Technician in the Detroit Michigan area. In 1980, John was drawn to Anchorage out of his love for the out-of-doors and the adventures Alaska had to offer.

John was the Master Technician for Armstrong Music of Anchorage until they closed their doors in 1984. John's love for the area and the need for his services, prompted the creation of The Horn Doctor Music Store.
