Mold, Fungus & Bacteria
Mold, fungus, yeast and bacteria grew inside the High Palm Key tone hole chimneys, and radically less of it with Key Leaves care.
The Key Leaves field test
Great question! To find out, we took two identical brand-new saxophones and played each one for 12 months: 200 hours of playing per sax, never swab cleaned, and eating food while playing. We took notes on how each sax worked. Here's what we found.

What we found
Mold, fungus, yeast and bacteria grew inside the High Palm Key tone hole chimneys, and radically less of it with Key Leaves care.
The low Eb key got sticky pad rot: the leather hardens and eventually leaks. Not so with daily Key Leaves care.
The entire body tube becomes unhealthy. These upside-down necks show how much mold and gunk grew in the sax that didn't use Key Leaves care.
The sax that didn't use Key Leaves care became stickier and coated in lint and mold.
Even without swab cleaning, using Key Leaves care products led to 98% fewer stuck saxophone keys. Results are even better when used as directed with swab cleaning.
We compiled over a year of still images to make the world's first time-lapse video of saxophone leather pad rot.
